Dale Holmes is a retired professional BMX rider turned entrepreneur.

Who is Dale Holmes?

Dale Holmes was born in 1971 in Heanor, Derbyshire, England.

Holmes fell in love with BMX racing at the age of 9 when he started reading magazines.

He started racing at the age of 11 in 1982 at the Nottingham Outlaws BMX Track and won his first race aged 13.

Holmes went on to win the British Championships and turned professional at the age of 16, quickly making a name for himself in the sport.

In 1990, he came to the US to race in Florida and eventually settled in California in 1996.

He went on to win two world titles, a European title and a World Cup title before retiring in 2006.

Holmes is widely known for helping put BMX racing on the map and has helped design and construct tracks around the world, including the Olympic BMX track in London.

Holmes turned to entrepreneurship after his retirement and launched a summer camp called ‘BMX Pro for a Week SUMMER Camp’.

The camps, which runs for a week, costs $300 but is always sold out.

In 2014, Holmes launched Dale Holmes Racing – a racing team that “travel to all USA BMX pro series events, UCI BMX World Cup Races, select Internationals, and The UCI BMX World Championships in Holland.”

Holmes also offers BMX coaching and training for aspiring racers.

In 2018, Holmes launched a clothing brand called Dvide.

Dale Holmes has a net worth of $5 million.

The majority of Holmes’s wealth has been made from sponsorship deals as well as the multiple businesses he’s set up after retiring from racing.

Holmes said in 2002: “Over the last few years I’ve made some good money racing BMX,” but admitted expenses were high and he’d “sometimes have to make around $700-$800 just to get my expenses back for the weekend before I can even think of making a profit.”

He added: “I can’t afford to get injured ’cause I have no salary coming in to live off.”
