Tre Lowe

Tre Lowe is one of the 18 contestants taking part in this year’s series of The Apprentice.

But the entrepreneur has a past as a very successful musician. So, who is Tre Lowe?

Who is Tre Lowe?

Tre Lowe, who was born under the name Paul Akabah, was born in January 1975.

Well before entering the world of business, he had a successful career as a musician, forming the garage duo Architechs alongside his brother Ashley.

Set up in the 1990s, the band quickly gained international attention when it produced a UK garage remix of Brandy and Monica’s “The Boy Is Mine”, selling 40,000 copies.

In September 2000, the band has their most successful hit “Body Groove”, with the song reaching number three in the UK singles chart. It was also nominated for a MOBO award.

Lowe’s brother Ashley Akabah died on February 2, 2020. Despite this, Lowe continued Architechs on his own. He only stopped performing due to medical issues after suffering severe tinnitus.

It was at this time that the former performer decided to become an entrepreneur.

“I decided to monetise something else I loved – working out. I created a personal training & well-being business,” he explained.

“I got my level three PT qualification, where it quickly dawned on me that in the world of personal training, PTs I spoke to were far more interested in poaching clients, than being part of a brand.”

Lowe’s famous past means that he counts a number of A list celebrities among his friends, including Oscar winning actress Emma Thompson, Big Brother presenter AJ Odudu and model Emily Ratajkowksi.

But despite his impressive lifestyle, the ex-musician insists that he is a nerd at heart.

He said ahead of The Apprentice: “People think I am a cool dude. But underneath all of that, I am a super-geek.

“I’ve always had a fascination with how things work. One of my dreams as a child was to be in those big red Britannica Encyclopaedia volumes, alongside the likes of Galileo, Newton, and Tesla.

“Total super nerd. Still cool though.”

Lowe believes his past in the music industry will help him in business, stating: “There’s something truly special about creative success, it goes way beyond just the financials.

“Though my brother is no longer alive – the music we made in this partnership certainly is and will impact future generations too.”

He added: “I believe the future of entrepreneurism will be about the personal stories, challenges, and triumphs of the founders.

“I have proven success, and I am utterly passionate about impacting people’s lives. I believe this is a proven formula for massive success.”
